In post-Partition Western India, elderly artist Husyn Naqqash is compelled to sell his ancestral home and move to Karachi, Pakistan. When the property’s buyer—stoic, stone-hearted Kishorilal—learns that Husyn is a well-known miniature painter, he schemes to acquire his invaluable collection.
