In a series of thematically connected episodes, four Iranian men are confronted with simple yet unconscionable choices. In the first part, we meet 40-year-old Heshmat, who lives a peaceful life with his wife and young daughter. But Heshmat feels trapped by his daily routine—and his family is living with a secret. Next comes Pouya, a young soldier who’s just commenced two years of military service. Yearning for an honorable discharge and new life abroad with his girlfriend, he is confronted with a testing dilemma over one long night. In the third piece, another young soldier, Javad, takes advantage of three days’ leave to be with his respective girlfriend, Nana. All fired up to propose, Pouya arrives at Nana’s address to discover there has been a mysterious bereavement. Finally, we are introduced to Darya, who goes to stay with pleasant, middle-aged couple Bahram and Zaman—countryside farmers who raise honeybees. Darya’s arrival has life-altering consequences.
